The Cookery has been perfecting the art of cooking since 1977 when Carol and Dick Skare honeymooned in Door County and purchased the restaurant. From day one, Carol and Dick have focused their business on serving high quality food that is prepared from start to finish in The Cookery’s kitchen. From the homemade jams that are on every table at breakfast to the cherry chutney that is served over pork tenderloin at dinner, Carol and Dick pride themselves in providing customers with a great dining experience.
The Cookery also incorporates Door County cherries in as many entrees and also makes homemade cherry jam, sauce and pie filling. All of The Cookery’s products are available for sale in the lobby as well as on the restaurant’s website. In 2003, The Cookery received the Wisconsin Cherry Growers' award for business use of cherries.
